Laura Lee’s Bio

Laura Lee, BA, QDDP, President

Laura Lee is the President of Ryan's Place, LLC. Laura graduated in 2008 from Queens University of Charlotte, Summa Cum Laude with Honors. Her degree is in English Literature and Creative Writing, with a Minor in Anthropology. She stumbled into the IDD field after working in private early intervention services for 5 years. She began providing 1:1 services to an individual with complex Autistic Disorder and became an Activities Director for a local-area adult day program. From there, Laura moved to the Arc of NC, where she learned so much about advocacy and the systemic challenges of federal and state Medicaid systems. Laura worked as a Qualified IDD Professional and Clinical Director at several other local provider agencies before taking the leap to help Luis Hernandez open Ryan's Place, LLC. Her greatest passions are informing and educating families and staff about political and systemic changes, training on best Clinical Practices, and writing policies and procedures. In her spare time, she loves hanging out with her teenagers, playing with her fur babies, gardening, cooking, yoga, and singing as loud as possible whenever she can.
